IPARD Managing Authority held information meetings in Kayseri from 7 to 9 October 2026 under the “Agri-Environment, Climate and Organic Farming Measure.”
Stakeholders were brought together to discuss organic chickpea cultivation and conservation farming practices as part of the pilot implementations planned under the Agri-Environment Measure in Kayseri.
During the meetings, participants were informed about Organic Chickpea Cultivation, which is planned to be implemented across Kayseri province, and Conservation Farming Practices, which is planned to be introduced in the districts of Pınarbaşı, Sarız and Yahyalı. The scope and objectives of these practices were discussed, while the region’s agricultural structure and the feasibility of implementing them in the field were also assessed.
The meetings provided an opportunity to exchange views on the suitability of the planned practices for local conditions, with stakeholders sharing their opinions and recommendations.
In addition to farmers, the meetings were attended by representatives of the Kayseri Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, the Pınarbaşı, Sarız and Yahyalı District Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry, the Chambers of Agriculture, the IPARD Managing Authority, and the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution (ARDSI).
The feedback and recommendations expressed during the meetings, together with the assessments gathered from the field, are expected to be taken into account during the preparation of the pilot implementations and, where necessary, in subsequent revisions to the implementation plans.
