Introduction, information and visit activities were carried out in Edirne province by the Directorate General of Agricultural Reform, IPARD Managing Authority in order to effectively promote the IPARD III Program.
Accordingly, visits were paid to Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer, Edirne Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Atilla Bayazıt and ARDSI Edirne Provincial Liaison Office.
Speaking at the IPARD III Introduction and Information Meeting organized by our Directorate General, Mr. Turgut Subaşı, Deputy Governor of Edirne, said: "Our farmers from Edirne are exemplary farmers who are engaged in farming in accordance with contemporary requirements and by following the emerging technology in the agricultural sector. Therefore, they will benefit from the highest level of support under the IPARD III Program through the projects they will prepare. Thus, our farmers in Edirne will contribute to increasing our national income and rural welfare via their investments in the agriculture and food sector."
In his speech, Hasan Hüseyin HAN, Head of the Department of the European Union Structural Harmonization Managing Authority under the Directorate General of Agricultural Reform, , said "As IPARD Managing Authority, we prepare, amend, monitor and promote the IPARD program in cooperation with our stakeholders. In this context, we started holding information meetings in the newly established provinces on the occasion of the expansion of the IPARD program to 81 provinces. Today, I would like to express our happiness to be here with you in Edirne. In addition to expanding the program to 81 provinces and increasing the budget of the program from EUR 456 million to EUR 785 million by increasing the contribution of the Republic of Türkiye from 25 percent to 50 percent, many updates were made during the IPARD III period. Apart from the programs covered by support in the new period, we also have two new measures that we plan to implement with the IPARD III program. The first one is Public Infrastructure Investments in Rural Areas and the other one is Consultancy Services."
Dr. Ahmet ANTALYALI, President of Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution, and Mr. Atilla BAYAZIT, Edirne Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, delivered their speeches during the introduction meeting. Besides, a comprehensive presentation on the sectors supported under the IPARD III Program was made by IPARD Managing Authority staff agricultural engineer Gökhan ÇENGEL. Personnel from Agricultural Producer Associations, Farmers, Investors, Municipalities, Universities, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, Provincial and District Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry, experts from Çanakkale ARDSI Provincial Coordination Unit and Edirne-Tekirdağ Provincial Liaison Office, representatives of public institutions and organizations and media organizations attended the meeting.
The meeting came to an end with a family photo session after the general discussion session and a question-answer round.
