A Cooperative Specialized On Project Preparation

Beneficiary : S.S. Burdur İli Köy Kalkınma ve Diğer Tarımsal Amaçlı Kooperatifler Birliği

My name is Yakup Yıldız and I am the Head of the Union of Limited Liability Village Development and Other Agricultural Cooperatives of Burdur Province. I worked in SEK for 21 years. I was the Head of the cooperative for 25 years and I am also raising sheep and goats. Previously we applied for these kinds of grant supports and we completed a project on healthy milk production and milk hygiene financed by the EU. We also completed a project concerning the procurement of milking tanks for 19 villages, which was financed by the World Bank in 2006. It was during the 9th Call for Application period we were invited to the publicity meeting of ARDSI. We are experienced as we have made cooperative projects previously; and we decided to apply for the IPARD support. In our facility established with IPARD supports, we process 12 tons of milk daily and work at full capacity. 26 employees work at our facility and we produce yoghurt, ayran, white cheese, butter, kashar cheese, tulum cheese and farm cheese. In the future, we apply for the IPARD Programme for solar energy and completing the missing machinery. We advise those coming to us and requesting information about IPARD to do researches very carefully before applying for IPARD. Successful projects should be visited and their experiences should be utilized.
