The habitat of the Great Bustard, which is to be protected under the ‘Biodiversity – Enhancing the Great Bustard Population’ type of operation launched in Polatlı, consists of natural steppes, agricultural land and pastures. Globally endangered and providing ecosystem services such as pest control and fertilisation, the Great Bustard bird serves as an indicator of the natural value and characteristics of the land.
Therefore, in order to determine the population of the Great Bustard—for which it is important to establish its number—fieldwork will be carried out between July and October in eight pilot villages (Adatoprakpınar, İnler, Özyurt, Sinanlı, Şeyhametli, Uzunbeyli, Yağcıoğlu and Yüzükbaşı).
