The meeting, organised within the framework of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance for Rural Development (IPARD), was attended by representatives of the General Directorate of Agricultural Reform (GDAR), the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution (ARDSI), the European Commission, the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye, as well as relevant public institutions and civil society organisations.
During the meeting, developments achieved under the IPARD III Programme since the previous Monitoring Committee meeting were reviewed. The 4th Modification Package of the Programme was also discussed, submitted for voting, and approved, thereby entering into force.
Among the key amendments introduced through the approved modification package were:
* the allocation of an additional 10 selection points to project applications submitted by persons with disabilities in order to promote positive discrimination and equal opportunities;
* the inclusion of Irrigation Unions as eligible beneficiaries under Measure M6 – Public Infrastructure Investments in Rural Areas; and
* the addition of the Measure Fiche for M10 – Advisory Services to the Programme.
The meeting also addressed ongoing and planned activities related to the LEADER, Technical Assistance, and Agri-Environment measures, as well as promotional and visibility activities. Participants exchanged views and recommendations regarding the effective implementation of the Programme and future priorities.
Within the framework of the Programme, field visits were carried out together with the European Commission delegation to enterprises in İzmir that have become operational with support from the IPARD III Programme. During these visits, the contributions of the Programme to rural development, employment, and local economic growth were examined on site.
The meeting, organised with the aim of enhancing the effectiveness of activities carried out under the IPARD III Programme and strengthening cooperation towards achieving the Programme’s objectives, concluded with the taking of a commemorative group photograph.
