The General Directorate of Agricultural Reform, the IPARD Managing Authority, held a meeting in Sinop to promote and inform about the IPARD III Programme.
Sinop Governor Dr. Mustafa Özarslan, speaking at the meeting, stated that IPARD support plays a significant role in Sinop's rural development, stating: "With IPARD support, Sinop is now transforming into a city that produces in rural areas, attracts investment, and creates employment. Our goal is to create a Sinop where people produce and earn in their villages, rather than migrating from their villages to the cities. We continue our efforts to establish a rural structure where our women and youth participate in production and where agriculture is integrated with technology."
Gökhan Çengel, an agricultural engineer and member of the IPARD Managing Authority, gave a comprehensive presentation informing the participants about the sectors supported under the IPARD III Programme. During the presentation, participants received detailed information on investments in the physical assets of agricultural holdings, investments in the processing and marketing of agricultural and fishery products, the Advisory Services Measure, the Development of Local Development Strategies - the LEADER Approach, public infrastructure investments in rural areas, and the diversification of farm activities and business development measures.
TKDK General Coordinator Cihan Karahan, Sinop Provincial Director of Agriculture Fatih Ölem, and Rural Development Branch Manager Cumaali Özcan also delivered speeches and presentations.
The event was attended by producer associations, farmers, investors, municipalities, university representatives, professional chambers, public institutions, and media organizations.
