The IPARD Managing Authority of the General Directorate of Agricultural Reform held a well-attended meeting in Tekirdağ to promote and inform about the IPARD III Programme. Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Hasan Hüseyin Han, Head of Department at the EU Structural Adjustment Managing Authority, emphasized that IPARD III appeals to a much broader audience than previous periods. Han stated, “While the Republic of Turkey's contribution was 25% in previous IPARD periods, this ratio has been increased to 50% in IPARD III. The programme budget has been increased from €556 million to €785 million. This will allow us to reach more investors and implement more projects.” Han noted that numerous projects are expected, particularly in Tekirdağ, and that IPARD offers significant opportunities for supporting rural development, modernizing the agricultural sector, and strengthening the local economy. The meeting also featured Dr. Ahmet Antalyalı and Tekirdağ Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Mehmet Aksoy delivered speeches, while Gökhan Çengel, an agricultural engineer from the IPARD Management Authority, delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the sectors supported under the programme. The event was well-attended by Tekirdağ Governor Recep Soytürk, Deputy Governor Günay Öztürk, producer associations, farmers, investors, municipalities, university representatives, professional chambers, public institutions, and media organizations.
