Prior to the meeting, the Ministry delegation visited the Kırklareli Governor's Office, the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, and the TKDK Provincial Liaison Office. They also visited a geothermal greenhouse contributing to the province's production and exports, where they received information from investors about the plant's capacity and its contributions to the regional economy and employment.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Hasan Hüseyin Han, Head of Department at the EU Structural Adjustment Managing Authority, emphasized that IPARD III appeals to a much broader audience than in previous periods. Han noted that the programme, implemented in 42 provinces in previous IPARD periods, has been expanded to all 81 provinces. He noted that numerous projects are anticipated in Kırklareli, particularly, and stated that IPARD offers significant opportunities for supporting rural development, modernizing the agricultural sector, and strengthening the local economy.
Kırklareli Deputy Governor Dr. Hasan Tanrıseven, speaking at the meeting, highlighted the city's agricultural and livestock potential and emphasized the importance of the support provided by the IPARD III Programme for the region. TKDK President Dr. Ahmet Antalyalı and Kırklareli Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Gökhan Karaca also spoke about the program's contributions.
Nihal Burhan from the IPARD Managing Authority also delivered a comprehensive presentation at the meeting, outlining the sectors supported under the programme.
The event attracted significant interest from producer associations, farmers, investors, municipalities, university representatives, professional chambers, public institutions, and media outlets.
