TRAINING ON THE EVALUATION OF LOCAL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES UNDER THE IPARD III PROGRAM HELD IN ANKARA

As part of the IPARD III Program implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, efforts to expand the LEADER approach across the country are ongoing. In this context, a training program was held in Ankara on August 5-6 2025, for committee members who will take part in evaluating Local Development Strategies. In the opening remarks, speakers highlighted that the implementation experience gained during the IPARD II period provides a strong foundation for the activities planned under IPARD III. Within the scope of the LEADER Measure, a call for proposals was launched in 2025 with a total budget of 50 million Euros, attracting applications from 164 Local Action Groups. The training provided committee members with detailed information on the technical knowledge, methodological framework and evaluation criteria they will need throughout the assessment process. Participants were also briefed on the core principles of the LEADER approach, the administrative and technical criteria and the LDS evaluation process involved. At the close of the program, participants were wished success and the Ministry reiterated its commitment to providing ongoing support throughout the evaluation process.
