Coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Committee Meetings of the Common Agricultural Policy Network (CAP Network) of Türkiye were held in Afyonkarahisar, Antalya, Balıkesir, Bursa, Elazığ, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Karabük, Kars, Kastamonu, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Konya, Mersin, Muğla, Nevşehir, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ, Trabzon and Van between September 16-27, 2024 with the participation of relevant stakeholders.
The meetings were held with the motto of ‘A Story of Change is Being Written in Rural Areas’ to ensure the creation of strategies with a participatory approach at the national level. Chaired by distinguished Governors, the meetings started with opening speeches by the Provincial Directors of Agriculture and Forestry, Provincial Coordinators of the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution, and Governors.
Following the opening speeches, informative presentations on the Common Agricultural Policy Network of Türkiye and LEADER were delivered by specialists from the Managing Authority.
The morning session of the meeting ended with presentations on the establishment of Local Action Groups and the preparation of Local Development Strategies. In the afternoon session, the views of the participants on the draft regional and local development strategies to be prepared exclusively for each region were received, and the meetings ended with the Q&A session.
Governors, Provincial Directors of Agriculture and Forestry, Provincial Coordinators of ARDSI, Development Agency representatives, and representatives of all institutions and organizations related to agriculture and rural development policies of the region participated in the meetings.
