Workshops were held on the topics of "Non-Productive Investments" and "Local Animal Breeds" under the "Technical Assistance Project for Agri-Environment Studies" carried out by the General Directorate of Agricultural Reform - IPARD Managing Authority of our Ministry with the co-financing of the Republic of Türkiye and the European Union.
"Non-Productive Investments" Workshop was held in Kızılcahamam between 17-19 September. In addition to our Ministry's IPARD Managing Authority and ARDSI personnel, representatives of the General Directorate of European Union and Foreign Relations, the Directorate for EU Affairs, university staff, Bernadett Csonka from Hungary and Riccardo Passero from Italy attended the workshop.
During the workshop, EU examples on the subject were discussed, information was exchanged and work was carried out to develop non-productive investments to be implemented under the IPARD Programme. The "Local Animal Breeds" Workshop was held in Ankara between 24-26 September. In addition to the employees of our Ministry's IPARD Managing Authority and ARDSI, the General Directorate of European Union and Foreign Relations, the General Directorate of Livestock, the General Directorate of Agricultural Research, representatives of the Turkish Cattle Breeders' Central Association, the Turkish Sheep and Goat Breeders' Association and Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture attended the workshop. In addition, Prof. Dr. Serkan Özkaya from Isparta University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Animal Science also made presentations at the workshop.
In the workshop, our local animal breeds were discussed and a study was carried out on what kind of action could be taken regarding local animal breeds within the scope of Agri-Environment measure. It is planned to reflect the knowledge and experience gained at the end of the successfully completed workshops to the further studies under Agri-Environment Measure.
