"Workshop for Mitigating and Adapting Farming Practices under Agri-Environment Measure to Climate Change by Relating Green Deal Approach" under the scope of "Technical Assistance Project for Agri-Environment Studies" by our Ministry, General Directorate of Agricultural Reform-IPARD Managing Authority with the joint financing of the Republic of Türkiye and the European Union, was held in Ankara on 4-5 September 2024.
In addition to the IPARD Managing Authority of our Ministry, representatives of the relevant Departments, the General Directorate of European Union and Foreign Relations, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the Directorate for EU Affairs, the Turkish Delegation and ARDSI, as well as Bernadett Csonka from Hungary participated in the workshop. In the workshop, presentations related to European Green Deal Initiatives, General Context of the Green Deal, the Potential Impact of the Green Deal on Agriculture and Rural Development, the Green Deal Action Plan of Türkiye, the Green Deal/Climate Change and the Agri-Environment Relationship were made.
Aim of the workshop was to get more information on agricultural implementations under Agri-Environment Measure for climate change mitigation by relating EU Green Deal Approach and to discuss the current implementations under Agri-Environment measure of Türkiye and these implementations’ relation and success in terms of Green Deal Approach. Obtained information is planned to reflect in the further studies under Agri-Environment Measure.
