The "National Rural Network" structure is being disseminated in Van Central Province as the Common Agricultural Policy Network.
The National Rural Network (NRN) of Türkiye is being expanded at the country level as the Common Agricultural Policy Network of Türkiye (CAP Network) under the Coordination of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry within the scope of the 2023 Century of Türkiye.
The CAP Network, based on the understanding of trust, cooperation and learning together, is a structure that will work in cooperation with agricultural and rural development institutions and organizations, and all relevant stakeholders.
In order to have an effective and sound performance of the CAP network structure, a high-level Steering Committee (SC) has been established under the chairmanship of the IPARD Managing Authority and 26 Regional central provinces have been identified to cover 81 provinces. In order to establish Van Regional Coordination centre, meetings were held for 5 days from 18th to 22nd September 2023 in the region covering Van as the Central Province, and Muş, Bitlis and Hakkari provinces. Representatives of all institutions and organizations related to the agricultural policies as well as all relevant stakeholders come together at the meetings in which the functioning, goals and objectives of the CAP Network were shared.
On September 19, 2023, Managing Authority expert Filiz ŞENER ÇELİKER, visited Deputy Governor of Van, Dr. Ahmet TOZLU, in his office and provided information about the CAP Network. Upon the visit, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Governor of Van, Dr. Ahmet TOZLU, the establishment of and assignments for the CAP Network Van Regional Coordination centre have been initiated. The Focus Group meeting was held on September 19, 2023 at the Van Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. During the meeting consisting of the Provincial representatives of the Steering Committee, information was provided about the CAP Network, the potentials and problems of the region were discussed interactively, and thereafter the representatives who would voluntarily take part in the regional coordination were identified.
On September 20, 2023, a stakeholder group meeting with wide participation was held in the meeting hall of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. During the meeting, where representatives of all stakeholders, CSOs, women's cooperatives and farmers' organizations related to agriculture and rural development attended, information was provided about the CAP Network and interactive discussions were made on the potentials, priorities, problems and solution recommendations for the region. On September 19-21, 2023, Nadide Göz, Edremit Şamran Women's Cooperative (Local Products), Hanife Durmuş, Gürpınar Women's Cooperative (Local Products), Perihan Duman, Ipekyolu Ipek Eller Women's Cooperative (Boutique Chocolate Production), Rezzan Bayram, Women Entrepreneur (Van Otlu Cheese Manufacturer) and Gevaş Women's Cooperative (Local Products) and other stakeholder visits were conducted.
