The Governor of Erzurum, Mr. Okay Memiş, delivered the opening speech at the meeting organized by the General Directorate of Agricultural Reform, the IPARD Managing Authority. In his speech, Mr. Memiş pointed out that there is an increase in demand for rural areas owing to the IPARD projects implemented in Erzurum, and stated that investors are working dedicatedly to utilize more grants, to realize new investments, and thus increasing employment and contributing to the economy of the province. During the meeting, a comprehensive presentation was delivered by the IPARD Managing Authority staff regarding the sectors supported under the IPARD III Programme (2021-2027). In the presentation, detailed information was provided to the participants related to Investments in the Physical Assets of Agricultural Holdings, Investments in the Processing and Marketing of Agricultural and Fishery Products, Agri-Environment – Climate and Organic Farming, Implementation of Local Development Strategies - LEADER Approach, Investments in Rural Public Infrastructure, and Farm Diversification and Business Development measures.
Through the presentations delivered by the Provincial Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry and the Provincial Coordination Unit of ARDSI, the participants were informed on the investments, activities and works realized in Erzurum within the scope of the IPARD Programme. Also at the meeting, an IPARD beneficiary made a presentation describing their experiences throughout the project process. During the publicity meeting, representatives of the Local Action Group supporting rural development in Erzurum exhibited their local products. LAG representatives provided information to the participants about their work and activities in the region.
Representatives of Agricultural Producer Organizations, Farmers, investors, LEADER - Local Action Groups, Development Agencies, Municipalities, University, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, staff of the Provincial and District Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry, experts of ARDSI Provincial Coordination Units, public institutions and organizations and local media outlets attended the meeting.
