Within the scope of Implementation of Local Development Strategies of Leader Approach, a training on “National Rural Network and Activities" was organized by Nallihan Local Action Group Association on September 8-9-10, 2022. It is aimed to develop the capacities of agriculture, tourism, cultural heritage, rural communities of Nallıhan district of Ankara with the training carried out; to improve rural areas socially, economically and environmentally.
NRN stakeholders (NGO representatives, cooperative members, producer unions, farmers, young entrepreneurs, university students, women's cooperatives, private sector etc.) operating in Nallıhan District Center and Çayırhan (Gül City) District participated in the training.
Within the scope of the program, expert support from Managing Authority staff was provided, presentations were made and information was given on short supply value chain good practice models (Participatory Guarantee system, Gülanta Amesia,) for small farmers within the National Rural Network.
In the meetings, in addition to the existence of innovative products such as avocado, pepino, lavender cultivation and what can be done about the aforementioned, it was discussed that the Nallıhan silk road and its importance, needle lace, bird sanctuary, ancestral seeds (fruits, vegetables, grain etc.), drying, angora goat and silkworm weaving, medicine and endemic plants, the area around the ancient city of Juliopolis within the scope of rural tourism was a rose city in BC and the Ottoman period, rose oil was produced here and it should be revived.
