The General Directorate of Agricultural Reform, the IPARD Managing Authority, held a meeting in Şırnak to promote and provide information about the IPARD III Programme. Speaking at the event, Şırnak Governor Birol Ekici stated that the city, with its borders across two countries, is at a crucial crossroads and that significant agricultural projects are underway. He emphasized that the support provided through the IPARD III Programme aims to contribute to rural development, the dissemination of modern production techniques, and the local economy. Gökhan Çengel, an agricultural engineer and member of the IPARD Managing Authority, gave a comprehensive presentation informing the participants about the sectors supported under the IPARD III Programme. Were provided with detailed information during the presentation on investments in the physical assets of agricultural holdings, investments in the processing and marketing of agricultural and fishery products, the Advisory Services Measure Participants, the Development of Local Development Strategies - the LEADER Approach, public infrastructure investments in rural areas, and the diversification of farm activities and business development measures. In addition, Dr. Ahmet Antalyalı, President of the ARDSI, Oktay Sezgin, Şırnak Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, and Mehmet Yarka, Mayor of Şırnak, delivered speeches and presentations highlighting the program's contributions. The event attracted considerable interest from producer associations, farmers, investors, municipalities, university representatives, neighborhood headmen (muhtars), professional chambers, public institutions, and media organizations.
